It has been two weeks since the virus was labeled a worldwide pandemic leading to closures of businesses and forcing many Americans and others around the world to work from home.

For the fighting game community, it hits closer to home with some players and commentators taking to social media to let their gaming family know they’re now out of work either through eSports or their jobs outside of gaming.

With the crises taking a toll on employment around the country, many will use this time to build their stream and their content. This is a time for everyone to come together to help each other through these tough times.

Please share, like, and follow your favorite and/or small streamers as it is now one of the platforms for some to earn money during the quarantine. Continue to follow WPE as we will continue to provide coverage and updates surrounding the virus and eSports.

What is Currently Canceled?

Popular events including Final Round, Brussels Challenge Major, and most of the Capcom Pro Tour has been canceled until further notice.  Other tournaments for Tekken 7 and Samurai Shodown are also be canceled.

Those who pre-registered for tournaments this year, mostly from March through April are expected to receive a refund. In the meantime, Evolution Championship 2020 will continue as planned until further notice.
