Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama dies at 68. Fans react

DRAGON BALL – Fans of the anime series Dragon Ball Z flooded social media with appreciation posts after it was announced Friday that creator Akira Toriyama died earlier this month.

According to a release from Bird Studio, Toriyama died on March 1 from acute subdural hematoma.

His funeral was held with his family and very few relatives. Plans for a commemorative gathering were not announced but will be once confirmed, the studio said.

Fans took to social media to thank Toriyama for the years of memories. Some even turn their profile pics into their favorite DBZ character.

Other works by Toriyama include role-playing games Dragon Quest and Chrono Trigger, among other projects.

He was 68.
