Family gives updates following passing of Michael Begum, aka BrolyLegs

Updated on March 26.

FGC — It was announced last week that Michael Phillip Begum, better known to the Fighting Game Community as BrolyLegs, died at the age of 35, according to his family.

A message of his passing was posted on his X, formerly known as Twitter, account:

Begum was born with the rare medical condition arthrogryposis, which hindered his muscle and joint growth and rendered him immobile.

His condition didn’t stop him from becoming known as one of the best Chun-Li players from Street Fighter 4 through 6 and was featured on Street Fighter League and ESPN.

The FGC expressed their condolences following the news.

The cause of his death is unknown. His brother said Broly passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 19.
